IMU Abacus Medal
The IMU Abacus Medal is awarded once every 4 years at the International Congress of Mathematicians, for outstanding contributions in Mathematical Aspects of Information Sciences. A nominee’s 40th birthday must not occur before January 1 of the year of the Congress at which the Medal is awarded and the selection committee is chosen by the Executive Committee of the International Mathematical Union. The IMU Abacus Medal was awarded for the first time in 2022 and is a continuation of the Rolf Nevanlinna Prize that was awarded from 1982 to 2018.
